Public Tours
PLEASE NOTE: NO VISITS OR TOURS OF THE JERUSALEM CENTER ARE AVAILABLE RIGHT NOW
Individuals of any faith, whether permanent residents of Israel, expatriate residents, or visitors to the area, are invited to visit the Jerusalem Center. Tours are available on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. Tour times are 10:00 am, 10:30 am, 11:00 am, 11:30 am, 2:00 pm, 2:30 pm, 3:00 pm, and 3:30 pm.
Tours include a 13-minute video about the Center, a short organ recital in the Center’s Upper Auditorium, and a visit to the Center’s public areas and gardens. Plan about 45-60 minutes for the complete tour. Tour opportunities are limited during the Christmas holiday season due to reduced staffing. If you are interested in visiting then, please e-mail hosting_dept@jc.byu.ac.il to check availability of tours.
Because of the intensity of the student program and the amount of field trip travel, students and faculty are not available to conduct private tours.
Finding the Center
The Center is located at 1 Hadassah Lampel Street on Mt. Scopus in East Jerusalem and is easily accessible by car or taxi. Public transportation is not available on the Sabbath (Saturdays). Directions are available on Google Maps.
Jerusalem Center Concert Series
The Jerusalem Center Concert Series presents classical concerts on Sunday evenings at 8:00 pm and jazz concerts on some Thursdays at 8:00 pm. Information about upcoming performances and tickets is available at byu.smarticket.co.il. There are no live broadcasts from the Center.
Church Services
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints holds Sabbath services at the BYU Jerusalem Center. Meetings are held from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm on Saturdays. For more information and to advise the Center in advance of your Sabbath visit, please contact the hosting staff at hosting_dept@jc.byu.ac.il.
Attendance at Church meetings is limited to Church members, their immediate family members who are non-members, and non-members who are not Jewish or Muslim who are participants in tour groups that are largely Latter-day Saints.
